| The apartment is located in an old Berlin building within the new neighbourhood of "Chamissoplatz," not far from the centre. There are three underground stations within just 5 minutes walking, through which all of the most important objectives may be accessed, such as: Regierung neighbourhood, Potsdam Plaza, Brandenburg Gate, The Island Museum, the Gendarmenmarkt, the Friedrichstrasse, Unter den Linden or Ku-Damm. One can arrive in City-East in 10 minutes and to City-West in 15. The Potsdam Plaza and the Tempodrom are 15 minutes away walking, and just 5 minutes walking to the Columbia Avenue. On Bergmann Street (one of the liveliest and most interesting in Berlin) there are many different shops and services. Here one will find the historic market, cafes, street cafes, restaurants, a supermarket and many other things. On Saturdays there is an ecologic market in the "Chamisso" Plaza. |

| Kreuzberg: Berlin Kreuzberg is characterised by a multicultural atmosphere. There are many little junk-shops, pubs and bars. An event worth seeing is the annual street festival ‘Karneval der Kulturen’ (carnival of cultures).
The name of this area of Berlin is derived from the hill Kreuzberg (66 m) in the middle of the Viktoria Park. Since 1820 this hill is a monument – a gothic cross on stone steps. From top of the hill you have a great view over the north of Berlin.
The streets Yorkstraße and Gneisenaustraße with loads of bars and restaurants cross the quarter. During daytime the Bergmannstraße is worth visiting with nice cafés, ethnic snack bars and second hand shops. Just a few steps away is the square Chamissoplatz. In this part of Berlin-Kreuzberg there are a couple of streets and blocks that survived the bombings during World War II – one of the most beautiful areas of Berlin. In the north of the quarter you find the famous Checkpoint Charly with a museum and a former GDR watch tower.
