Wilmersdorf: Berlin-Wilmerdorf is a calm, pretty and wealthy quarter in the southwest of Berlin. It is characterised by representative Wilhelminian style buildings and the forest Grunewald. Many religious groups have marked this area: among others, you can find a mosque in the street Brenner Straße, the Russian-Orthodox church Christi-Auferstehung or a Jewish parish hall in the street Fasanenstraße. In the western part of Wilmersdorf you start leaving the inner city and reach the forest Grunewald with its plenty of possibilities for sport and relaxation. The German Open tennis tournament takes place in the stadium in this area. On a hill there is a tower which offers you a great view over some of Berlin’s lakes. In the northern part of the Grunewald there is the Teufelsberg, an artificial elevation of debris from the Second World War which forms with an altitude of 110 meters one of the highest points of Berlin.
